Orbit for Chrome privacy policy
Orbit for Chrome is a browser extension made by SUPERORBIT LTD (company number SC906206, registered in Scotland). It connects Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Brave to the Orbit app on the same computer, so the Orbs (Orbit's AI helpers) can carry out web tasks you ask for.
What the extension can see
Only the tabs you share with Orbit. You share a tab from the extension's button, or an Orb opens one for you. Shared tabs sit in a tab group named "Orbit". Tabs outside that group are never read.
In a shared tab, while an Orb is working on a task, the extension can read the page's text and layout, take screenshots of it, see the page's own console messages and network requests, and click and type on the page. It never types into password, card number, expiry date or security code fields, and never presses buttons that pay, buy, place an order or confirm a checkout: those steps are handed back to you.
The extension never reads your saved passwords, your browsing history, your cookies, your other tabs or your other extensions. It has no permission to.
Where the information goes
Only to the Orbit app on the same computer, through Chrome's native messaging (a direct connection between the browser and the app, with no network port). The extension sends nothing to SUPERORBIT LTD or anyone else.
What happens next is up to the Orbit app and the AI model you have chosen in it. When an Orb works on a page, the page's text or screenshots may be sent to that model's provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI) as part of your conversation with it, under that provider's terms and the Orbit app's privacy policy (superorbit.app/privacy).
The side panel
The side panel shows your own Orbit chats. It connects only to your Orbit app: on the same computer directly, or, if you pair it with Orbit on another computer, through Orbit's relay with end-to-end encryption (the relay passes on sealed messages it can't read). Its pairing key is kept in the browser profile, and removing the panel in Orbit's Settings, under Phone, cuts it off. The panel reads nothing from your pages unless you press "Use this tab", which shares that tab as described above.
What is stored
- In the browser: which tabs are shared, for the current session only. It is cleared when the browser closes.
- In the Orbit app on your computer: the websites you have allowed Orbs to use, and a log of what Orbs did in your browser (the page, the action, and the time; never the text that was typed). You can see the log and remove allowed websites in Orbit's Settings, under Browser.
Your control
- Stop sharing a tab from the extension's button, or drag it out of the Orbit group.
- Press Cancel on Chrome's "is debugging this browser" bar to stop Orbit and stop sharing every tab.
- Remove a website from the allowed list in Orbit's Settings.
- Remove the extension at any time from your browser's extensions page.
