The facts
What is Orbit?
Orbit is a desktop app for Mac and Windows, with a phone app, that puts Claude, Grok and Codex chats, a browser your AI can drive, a terminal, projects, planner, calendar and inbox in one window, run by an always-on lead Orb called the Moon.
Orbit is the one app for everything you build: your AI chats, the tools they work in and your day, in one window, on the AI plans you already pay for.

What it does
Most people who build with AI keep a dozen apps open: a chat app for each model, a terminal, an editor, a browser, a calendar, a to-do list, an inbox and a notes app, then copy things between them all day. Orbit puts them in one window where they know about each other.
- Orbs. Orbit calls its AI helpers Orbs. Every chat is an Orb, filed under its project. You can switch an Orb from Claude to Grok to Codex mid-conversation and the next model picks up where the last one stopped. See every model in one chat.
- Projects linked to folders. Point Orbit at a folder and it becomes a project. A lead Orb plans the work and sub-threads take the pieces, reporting back to it.
- The Moon. Your lead Orb, always on, with the name and colour you give it. It checks in on your messages, calendar and Orbs, hands work to the right project, runs scheduled jobs and tells you what needs you. It never sends, publishes or pays without your OK. See your Moon.
- A browser your Orbs can drive. A real Chromium browser inside Orbit. Orbs read, click, type and test pages in tabs of their own while you keep using yours. See the browser.
- The workspace. A terminal beside the chat, a file editor, a Changes pane showing every diff before anything is committed, pull requests, and a Secret box for keys your models use but never see. See the workspace.
- Your day. Home, morning and evening briefings, a Planner with Google Calendar, Tasks, My Work, a Board with projects, leads and people, Inbox and Journal. See your day.
- Teams. Put teammates on projects, talk in Chat, write Docs together and see everyone's Workload.
- Blocks. Ask an Orb for a little tool, like a habit tracker or a launch countdown, and it appears in your sidebar. Share it in the Block Store. See Blocks.
- The phone app. Your Orbs, Moon, Inbox and Planner live from your computer, with approvals from the notification.
How it works
Orbit runs on your own computer. When you connect Claude or Grok, Orbit signs in with your own plan, using each company's own sign-in, and works within that plan's limits, so there is nothing extra to pay for the models. Codex runs on your own OpenAI API key, billed by OpenAI.
Your chats, files and sign-ins stay on your computer. Your messages go from your computer straight to the AI company you chose. Orbit's own server keeps your account and subscription, plus what you choose to share with teammates if you use Teams (stored encrypted). The phone app talks to Orbit on your computer, end-to-end encrypted when you're away from home. See the privacy policy.
Who it's for
People who build every day and live in AI tools: developers, founders, freelancers and small agencies who run several projects at once and want their chats, code, browser and day in one place. It suits heavy users more than occasional ones.
What Orbit is not
- Not a new AI model. Orbit uses Claude, Grok and Codex, on your own accounts.
- Not a web app. It's a desktop app, with a phone app that pairs to it.
- Not related to Mozilla's Orbit, the Firefox add-on that closed in June 2025, the Orbit social app or the Super Orbit game.
